Juego Secreto RPG


Im going to speak about a new song. Its for a new RPG game whose beta is going to be out soon. In the mean time I will put one of the songs of the game. Is the song for the title screen, but…

Originally I designed this song for being an overworld theme. The typical song that sounds when your character is going around, in between villages and castles. So it has certain feel of going walking. If I do the gesture of walking while the song sounds, everything is fitting perfect. Anyways is designed to be the main theme of this game as well as the title screen so I think it will fit very well.

About how I did the song: As I told I did the song quite a long time ago, but I couldn’t find a father for it. So it was just in my storage of forgotten songs, but I always liked it so I decided to take it and improve it a little bit to fit in this game. I took influence from this tune:

The structure of the song is as follows: first a pair of chords, that at the beginning sound strange, introduce the ambient of something sad but in peace. Inmediately a violing enters and starts talking, is a little bit sad but it’s only the beginning. It says a few words, and then it creates a little bit of tension that resolves in the next part.

Another instruments now take the main voice and introduces a little bit of hope for this sad world. The other instruments stay more or less simmilar and the feeling of walking is incremented. Everything feels ok, but then another part of the song comes. Is the cotraposition of the previous one.

The instruments and the ambient created is totally different and the synthetical chords and the violin that has regained control of the song are speaking of another world, another possibility, a possibility of salvation. Then this parts come to an end and the wind instruments comes again, to say that we still dont know what happens but meanwhile everything is more or less in peace.

At the end two chords signal the end, and this two make the two first gain all their meaning because the song was meant to be looped

    Está de lujo la canción, fácilmente podría pasar por una de cualquier RPG de SNES sin problemas, muy profesional. ¡Felicidades!

      Gracias Javi! Que lo compares con los RPG de SNES me honra mucho :). Últimamente me han entrado unas ganas grandes grandes de jugar al Secret of Mana y he estado escuchando bastante la banda sonora. Seguramente se refleje como influencia en alguno de los temas que lleguen nuevos

    Mola! Lo único que no me va mucho son las 2 notas hacia arriba con las que acaba la segunda voz, pero me pasa siempre yo creo así que no me tengas en cuenta 😛 a mi me gusta más acabar hacia abajo que hacia arriba XD

      Jajaja! Gracias por la crítica! La verdad es que es curioso que comentes eso. La intención era de no terminar la canción si no de dar la sensación de que sigue y sigue. Lo tendré en cuenta cuando quiera hacer muy conclusivo algo 😉

    The song is great, i like how you change the melody instrument, Its very nice and the rithm is very good.

    One think i would sugest that would benefit the song:

    The violine melody should faid out every time for every tone. (volium should go down)
    Because now it is like cuting meat, very cut not natural sound for violine.

    So i think the notes a great and the instruments, but the sound is somthing we have to work more on it.

      Hey Sam!

      Yep that is something that could be done. I will try and see how it sounds. One thing that maybe can go against this argument is: Is this done normally in music for video games? I’m not sure. I will check a few tunes. Anyways is a good idea.
